A cellar of salt was placed on top of the bread or set in a hole cut into the top of the bread. The ceremony also was used prior to the marriage of a landowner when he traveled to each village on his estate, introducing his new bride to the peasants. The ceremony symbolized that the couple would never be without the necessities of life. Nowadays, it is popular to welcome official guests while national festivities, government receptions, openings of new exhibition and entertainment centers. Its three parks occupy the area of 600 ha, on which over 100 architectural constructions rise: from magnificent palaces and grand monuments to intimate pavilions and park sculptures. In the 17th century there was a Finnish farm here at Dudorovsky eminence called "Saari mois" in Finnish language. In 1708 it became a possession of the Russian Czar, and the Finnish toponymy word "Saari mois" was transformed into "Czarskaya Mysa" that sounded more Russian. In 1708-1724 Czarskaya Mysa was the residence of Peter the Great's wife, the Empress Catherine I. From 1741 Czarskoye Zelo became the residence of the Empress Elizabeth and during her reign the architect Rastrelli created a magnificent Imperial Palace, a brilliant masterpiece of Russian baroque. Bolshoi Catherine Palace is a remarkable example of Russian baroque architecture. The existing palace was built between 1744 and 1756 by architects Zemtsov, Kvasov, Chevakinskiy, Rastrelli, Cameron, Quarenghi, Monighetti, Stasov. In the years 1811 - 1843 the Czarskoselsky Lyceum was established there, an elite school for noble families offspring's, where the great Russian poet A.S. Pushkin was educated. - Hidden Entertainment in Russian Empire

Being one of the best restaurants of St.Petersburg and having unique underground wine cellars isolated from the main rooms of the restaurant Russian Empire givers a lot of possibility for the entertainment. At the entrance guests are met by two hussars dressed in Russian military uniform of the 18th century. At the entrance to each of the three hidden wine cellars of the Restaurant we put a hussar each time honoring the guests. We put the entertainment to each room as following:
1. Room #1: Opera Singe (5 min);
2. Room #2: A Ballet dancer (5 min);
3. Room #3: A couple of dancers dressed in the costumes of 18th century and performing 5 min baroque dance.
The total group should be divided on three parts - 3 rooms and change locations downstairs visiting all three rooms. The maximum group capacity is 40 guests. The entertainment makes the visit to wine cellars more spectaculars. The only disadvantage that the group much depends on timing and there is no much time for relax.
