• HISTORY: The Fourth biggest city in Europe with 5,5 million inhabitants but also the historical and cultural city of Russia. The city was founded 1703 by Peter the Great celebrated its 300 years anniversary during 2003. The foundation and European influence made it famous as the cultural center of Russia and the Capital during nearly 200 years during the Romanov dynasty prior to the revolution. The city has been called the Venice of the North due to all canals and bridges along the Neva River and canals as well as the Window to the West, the gateway to the East and many more.
• DESCRIPTION: The city is created by five major Islands and the center is rather small around all main attractions, the Marinsky Theater, the Palace Square, Peter & Paul Fortress, St. Isaac’s Cathedral which all surrounds the Neva River and the main Street Nevsky Prospect as well as the major Hotels which all are on walking distance. The development since the name change from Leningrad to St. Petersburg is amazing and still continues rapidly to change with an active reconstructions and refreshing of buildings and facades which adds the feeling of "Energy & Development" into the fastest growing economy in Europe. Around the city cottages and summer resorts are developing quickly especially around the beaches and the costs. The closeness to Europe but with its distinctive difference makes the city exotic also compared with other European cities and within a short reach from all European travel hubs.
• LIFESTYLE: A city for shopping & entertainment! The majority of shops and stores are opened during weekends and late evenings (7-9pm) with a lot of 24 hours food convenient stores. Pulkovo Arrival New Terminal

• THE NEW TERMINAL: The new terminal will serve up to 17 million passengers annually and uniting the newly constructed building and its northern passenger waiting area with the current Pulkovo I terminal (under renovation from January 2014). The building consists of 3 levels connected by escalators, staircases & elevators. The ground floor will house the arrivals and baggage claim areas. Glass skylights and geometric panels contribute to the visual impact of the terminal. The airport’s new 5-kilometer-long automatic baggage system that can process up to 4,800 pieces an hour eliminating needs for ground personnel. The new terminal is equipped with 8 air bridges, which will expand to 14 after the renovation of Pulkovo I (one-third of passengers will be shuttled to their planes via bus). The new terminal will be equipped with 110 passport control desks and 88 check-in desks.
• IMMIGRATION: Immigration Forms will be filled in automatically at the immigration and will be stamped upon arrival and should be registered in the hotel and submitted upon departure at Immigration. Passport & Immigration Forms will be collected upon hotel check-in and could retrieved the same evening or the following morning at the reception.
• CUSTOMS: Customs forms should be filled in for arrival & departure if carrying currency over USD 3000 (for foreigners) and in order to bring cash back upon departure (forms should be stamped by the customs at the Red Line "Goods To Declare"). All other passengers will pass through at the Green Lane "Nothing to Declare" where random checks will be done of luggage in X-rays. In case of lost luggage the person must proceed to Lost & Found and declare luggage arrived and luggage received. Lost & Found Office located after Customs Zone. Due to security reasons Lost Luggage must be retrieved personally with Identification.
• ARRIVAL: Arrival Area includes Meet & Greet Area, bar/ cafe area (rubles only), toilets (free of charge) and access with security control only. Guides/ escorts with welcome signs will meet with in the Meet & Greet Area following the customs zone and transport will be parked outside the Arrival Hall. Approx. transfer to the city 45min - 1 hour depending on traffic. If agreed and confirmed by RP in advance, presence of representatives of Russkie Prostori Company.

• DESCRIPTION / ROUTE: An introduction tour of the city with its five and a half million people and the main attractions in the center along the impressive Boulevard "Nevsky Prospect" with buildings, palaces, Churches, Cathedrals, shopping areas. You will pass the many Canals and as well the view of the many beautiful palaces facing the Neva River. Since the creation in 1703 as a small fortification at the present Peter & Paul Fortress the city of myths and mystery was built on a flat march land by architects and prisoners of wars. The whole sophisticated development of St. Petersburg is materialized in its palaces and temples, park ensembles, street labyrinths and multi-story houses and as a master plan of Venice of the North and Amsterdam. Like any other large city (St. Petersburg is the fourth largest city in Europe) still looks like an old city in spite of according to European measurements it’s a rather young city.

• DESCRIPTIONS: The State Hermitage occupies 6 magnificent buildings situated along the embankment of the River Neva, right in the heart of St Petersburg. The Winter Palace - playing the leading architectural role - was the residence of the Russian Czars, that was built to the design of Francesco Bartolomeo Rastrelli. The Winter Palace was built in 1762 for Empress Elizabeth, the daughter of Peter the Great. Many of the palace’s impressive interiors have been remodeled after 1837, when a huge fire destroyed most of the building. The Hermitage Museum is the largest art gallery in Russia and is among the largest and most respected art museums in the world. The basic display areas of the Hermitage occupy 365 rooms in the Main Museum Complex. The Winter Palace, the Small Hermitage, the Old Hermitage and the New Hermitage display the collections of monuments of culture and art of the ancient world, Western Europe, Russia and the countries of the Orient, as well as archaeological and numismatic collections. The Hermitage Theater and the Reserve House also form part of the Main Museum Complex. The museum was founded in 1764, when Catherine the Great purchased a collection of 255 paintings from the German city of Berlin. The Hermitage’s collections include works by Leonardo da Vinci, Michelangelo, Raphael and Titian, a unique collection of Rembrandt and Rubens, many French Impressionist works by Renoir, Cezanne, Manet and others, numerous canvasses by Van Gogh, Matisse, Gauguin and several sculptures by Rodin.

• DESRIPTION: Opened in April 2013, the project Biblioteka Food and the City - it is a restaurant complex with shops and restaurants. It is the author's collection of interesting dishes, tastes, books, movies, music, and art from around the world, housed on three floors of the in the historical building in the center of St. Petersburg, right on main street of the city - Nevsky Prospect. On the ground floor there is a bakery, salad bar and lunch station, as well as the American diner with a large selection of burgers. In confectionery you can taste the sweets iPolza, cooked without the use of sugar. Capacity: 180 seats. On the main staircase there is an exhibition space where you can purchase all the works if you like it - photos or paintings. On the second floor there is a restaurant with an open kitchen, where you can taste different cuisines from all over the world - Slavic, Italian, Thai, Moroccan, Middle Asian. You can not only recover strength, but also learn how to cook interesting dishes at cooking classes. There are culinary master - classes, cookbooks presentations, gourmet dining, as well as classes for children.
• CAPACITY: Capacity of the restaurant: 150 seats. On the third floor of the Biblioteka there is a Wine and Tapas Bar with Spanish and French cuisine, a bookstore "We" in which, for example, you can take the book for hire while having your lunch or dinner. Pulkovo Departure New Terminal

• THE NEW TERMINAL: While all passengers traveling through Pulkovo will use the new terminal for check-in, international passengers will wait for their flights on the third floor of the new terminal. Domestic passengers will continue to depart from Pulkovo I once renovation has been completed. The building consists of 3 levels connected by escalators, staircases & elevators. The airport’s new 5-kilometer-long automatic baggage system that can process up to 4,800 pieces an hour eliminating needs for ground personnel. The new terminal will be equipped with 8 air bridges, which will expand to 14 after the renovation of Pulkovo I (one-third of passengers will be shuttled to their planes via bus). The new terminal will be equipped with 110 passport control desks and 88 check-in desks.
• PASSPORT: Prior to the hotel check-out please ensure that all passports and Immigration Forms that was initially stamped by immigration and hotel registration have been collected. Customs forms declared and stamped upon arrival should be originals only and declared in Red Channel (bringing back more than USD 1.500 or equivalent). Transfer from the city approx. 45 minutes - 1 hour depending on traffic. If combining the departure with an excursion to Pavlosk / Pushkin the transfer time will be approx. 20-30 minutes (all depending on traffic). Departure from the hotel 3 hours prior departure time or as agreed.
• DEPARTURE: Security check with X-ray for suitcases & hand luggage as well as personal security check prior entering the Departure Gate.
