• Pillow Gift Recomendation:

• Souvenirs from Russia are your mementos from an adventure. We are pleased to offer fine hand-crafted traditional Russian gifts and souvenir items. We feature hand painted Russian "matryoshka" nesting dolls and eggs, "Golden Khokhloma" style wooden tableware and lacquered jewelry boxes; along with many other fine examples of traditional Russian folk art from the regions around St. Petersburg, Moscow, Semenov, Nishniy Novgorod, Sergiev Posad, Nolinsk, and Maidan. In Russia you'll find souvenirs that fit your personality, the style of your home, and your budget. Several suggestions. Rates include delivery to the hotel.
• Book of Moscow in hard cover;
• Matryoshka Doll. These dolls, also known as Russian nesting dolls, are a favorite Russian souvenir. They come in the traditional styles—girls with flowered dresses and headscarf's—or more whimsical designs. The more intricately painted and the more dolls nested, the higher the price.
• Bottle of Russian Vodka inside Matreshka;
• Khokhloma Souvenirs. This gorgeous folk art is often scoffed at as being too common for the discerning tourist, but the typical red, gold, and black floral and berry designs date back hundreds of years. These symbolic colors were originally used for religious purposes. The designs on Khokhloma bowls, spoons, or other objects are hardly ordinary—it’s possible to find ones that rival even Gzhel ceramic designs!
• Russian hand-made dolls in traditional national costumes. Heads and hands of dolls are made of porcelain and hand painted. These dolls are dressed in national costumes which reflect traditions of specific regions of old Russia.
• Lacquer boxes are special Russian souvenirs. Lacquer miniatures and boxes from Russian Palekh, Mstera, Kholui and Fedoskino are known all over the world. Traditions of lacquer box painting came to Russia from the Western countries in 17century. Since the beginning of 19 century there were many Russian native factories that produced lacquered articles painted in own styles. Old traditions of lacquer box painting still are alive.
• Fur-Hat. An ushanka is a Russian fur cap with ear flaps that can be tied up to the crown of the cap, or tied at the chin to protect the ears from the cold. In the English-speaking world, it is referred to as a shapka, from the Russian language word for "hat". Ushanka literally translates as "ear-flaps hat". Though Russian hat ushankas are a distinctly Russian hat the wearing of fur caps of similar design is common throughout China, Eastern Europe and the former Soviet Union. Ushankas are also seen in American cities during cold winter months, especially in cities that have a sizable East European immigrant population. In 1991, with the fall of the Soviet Union came the first wave of commercially imported Russian winter hats into the United States. Ushankas are often made from cheap sheepskin (tsigeyka), rabbit or muskrat fur, though artificial fur hats are also manufactured. Artificial fur has sometimes been referred to as "fish fur" since the material has no relation to any real fur.

Grand Kremlin Palace OPTION, UNIQUE EXPERIENCE

locate on map
• DESCRIPTION: The Grand Kremlin Palace is Russian Emperor's Residence of the XIX century. Merely 160 years ago the it had yet completely different look. It was "IZBA" style building chaotically joined with little staircases and passages. Designed by a team of architects under the management of Konstantin Thon (who was also the architect of the Kremlin Armory Chamber and the Church of Christ the Savior), new palace was intended to express power and richness of the country. Its luxurious interiors impress with their colors and decoration. Unique excursion along the Grand Kremlin Palace includes visit to five Reception Halls of the second floor (Georgievsky, Vladimirsky, Aleksandrovsky, Andreyevsky, and Ekaterinsky) which are named for the Orders of the Russian Empire: the Orders of St. George, Vladimir, Alexander, Andrew, and Catherine. 13:30 Lunch at Old Tower Restaurant

locate on map
• LOCATION & DESCRIPTION: The Old Tower is situated in the historical center of Moscow at the foot of the Kremlin in one of the ancient towers of the Kitay-Gorod Wall, representing a perfect sample of architecture of those ancient times. It is hard to believe now, that this building once served as a fortification-nowadays it is perceived as a purely tourist attraction. Yet, once you are in The Old Tower you may look at the history from another point and see the old Moscow, which was so unlike to nowadays mega city. The interior of The Old Tower combines features of ethnic Russian style and a fortress-castle, though unlike most of fortresses, it is bright and spacious. The finishing on the floor and the walls, solid furniture of black wood, windows with oak shutters and bolts, ornamental upholstery of chairs, linen serviettes, lanterns in the shape of torches, pictures depicting old Russian history-make the place really cozy. Corrections for modernity are in compliance with general coloration; for instance, the restroom with sinks of sheet copper and the elevator are decorated as aged metal-such gimmicks would have been nuts to any of Muscovia Knyaz, who used to be engaged all their life time in military campaigns and state activities.
•TYPE OF COUSINE & CAPACITY: This restaurant is a favorite dining place of foreign tourists, and offers authentic Russian cuisine and unparalleled dining experience. The Old Tower restaurant is a favorite destination for many of foreign tourists where we are glad to offer you a splendid variety of traditional Russian dishes. Every dish is served piping hot. Here you will find a great choice of handmade dumplings (pelmeni) of different kinds and stuffings, pancakes, homemade cutlets, a variety of borsch, dishes of game and much more.

15:30-16:30 Metro Tour Moscow

• DESCRIPTION: Moscow Metro is well-known all over the world as the most beautiful underground transit system. It is one of the main and significant memorials of Soviet Union's era. The decision to build underground railway in Moscow was taken on the 15th of June in 1931 by Central Committee. The first trains, which contained only 4 carriages, departed on the 15th of May in 1935. Those days the amount of passengers using Metro was about 177,000 daily. DAY 3

OPTION 1 SOVIET THEMATIC DAY

09:00-13:00 Bunker Taganski - Cold War Museum

locate on map
• Excursion "Top Secret" Built in 1951, this super-secret bunker served as the command post, the main artery for communication for the Soviet Union in the event of a nuclear war. It was built to withstand direct hits and insure normal telecommunications in the worst case scenario. You enter from a nonchalant building near the metro Taganskaya. It's so well disguised that I myself have passed by this building many times over a period five years prior to the opening and I never guessed that such a place existed. Upon entry you are issued an id with a picture of yourself in a gas mask. This is just the beginning. You pass by an incredible 6 ton concrete door which slide open to reveal a small set of stairs which go down. And down. And down further. In all 22 flights. (For those not wishing to walk, you can take the elevator). When you reach the bottom you are met by soldiers at a command post who run a Geiger counter over you to see if you are contaminated with radiation.
• Essentially the bunker is a network of tunnels, in all over 7000 square meters. Most are small, but there are 4 large chambers which are 50% larger than the metro tunnels. In one of the chambers there is a film on the Cold War and the origins of the bunker. In another, you can see the communications equipment used during the 1950's. The bunker housed 2500 workers who would work in seven day shifts below ground. The bunker supplied everything they needed, including sleeping quarters, a canteen and bathing facilities. There was also a stockpile of food in the event of a nuclear strike.
• The walk through the tunnels is simply breath-taking and you can get lost in your imagination of what it must have been like 50 years ago. For those fans of Soviet history and the Cold War, this is a must see. Duration: 1 hour. In summer wear something warm (a shawl, jacket, or a scarf) when you go to the bunker, the temperature downstairs is about 17 degrees Celsius, so it can be quite chilly in summer clothes. Opt for the soldier's lunch to complement the unique old time Soviet Union feeling (other types of menus, regular dishes at very good prices are also available upon request).

Blue Light Fast Track Escort on the way to the Star City OPTION

• The traffic in Moscow is truly unpredictable. A solution to avoid traffic jams would be an official car with Blue Lights leading the minivan/coach and clearing the way. While on route the convoy will swiftly pass through red lights and the transfer time will be often reduced by half. The honking from the police car and occasionally commands to clear the way through loud speakers and microphones from the car will provide an extra "VIP feeling" to the guests. Possibility of going through oncoming lanes and passing bays. Recommended 1 escort car per maximum three coaches or 1 in the beginning and one in the end of longer columns. Pre-reservation, permission at each single occasion is required prior to confirmation (to be booked minimum 7 days prior the transfer). The escort is not allowed for private cars & small minivans/limos (only coaches & big minivans).
