LOCATION: Sofia is Bulgaria’s capital and its largest city. Founded thousands of years ago, today the city continues to develop as the country’s cultural and economic center. DESCRIPTION: Sofia is one of the oldest cities in Europe with ruins spread across the city center. It was founded because of the quality of its mineral waters. In the city alone there are 7 independent mineral water springs. One of the springs is in the central area of the city and is accessible for everybody - cross the square behind the mosque, next to TSUM (the intersection of Iskar and Ekzarh Yosif streets). In the administrative center of Sofia the streets are covered with a specific yellow pavement. It was laid in the beginning of the 20th century and were a present to the Bulgarian Tsar Ferdinand for his wedding from the Austria-Hungarian royal family.
FOOD: Most Bulgarian dishes are oven baked, steamed, or in the form of stew. Deep-frying is not very typical, but grilling - especially different kinds of meats - is very common. Oriental dishes do exist in Bulgarian cuisine with most common being moussaka, gyuvetch, and baklava. Pork meat is the most common meat in the Bulgarian cuisine. Fish and chicken are widely eaten, while beef is less common. Yogurt (Kiselo mlyako) is very popular. It is mixed with water (drink called ayryan or airian) and it is added to main dishes (especially liver based or with minced meat). White cheese (brine) is a very popular ingredient in the Bulgarian cuisine too. Salads are often topped it it and it is often added to soups and main dishes.

Arrival to International Airport Sofia

AIRPORT&TERMINALS: Sofia Airport is the main airport of Bulgaria. The airport is located 5 km east from the centre of Sofia. In 2014 the airport handled 3,815,158 passengers.
Terminal 1 offers easy access, simple procedures and efficient services up to the modern airport standard. Terminal 1 currently serves low-cost and charter carriers.
Terminal 2 was officially opened on 27 December 2006 with the symbolic arrival of Bulgaria Air flight FB 408 from Brussels. The terminal has seven air-bridges (gates A1, B5–9 and C1), 38 check-in desks and covers an area of 50,000 m2 and has a car park for 820 vehicles. It is located to the east of Terminal 1 and is significantly bigger than the old one which continues to serve low-cost and charter airlines. The passenger terminal building is designed with a capacity of 2,000 peak hour passengers or up to 2.6 million passengers a year, plus 26,000 tonnes of luggage. For the first time in Bulgaria, a terminal has airbridge-equipped gates instead of relying on airside buses.
VISA PROCEDURES: Visas are obtained from the embassies or consulates of the destination countries. Each country may have different procedures regarding information and documents required. All information concerning Visa issues can be obtained from the web-page of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bulgaria.
DEPARTURE: It is suggested that passengers start the check-in procedures two (2) hours prior to their scheduled flight for international destinations and one and a half (1.5) hours prior to their scheduled flight for domestic destinations.
OTHER FACILITIES: The VIP terminal is located in the western wing of Terminal 1 and has an entrance of its own, providing an access to four separate rooms – one main room and two separated rooms with about 20 seats each.

Edoardo Miroglio winery was established in 2002 with first production in 2005.
The winery is located in the central part of an array of approximately 220 hectares of vineyards, which cover the hillside of Saint Ilia which descends to the village of Elenovo.
The annual production capacity of Edoardo Miroglio Wine Cellar is approximately 1 million liters of wine. The production cycle covers all technological operations - from primary grape processing to wine bottling.
